Responsibilities: 

  1. Program Leadership: Oversee the development and implementation of the sonography program curriculum, ensuring it meets industry standards and accreditation requirements.
  2. Faculty Management: Recruit, train, and supervise faculty members, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality instruction.
  3. Student Support: Advise and mentor students, assisting with academic planning and career guidance to enhance student success and retention.
  4. Curriculum Development: Continuously evaluate and update the curriculum to incorporate the latest advancements in sonography and educational practices.
  5. Accreditation and Compliance: Ensure the program complies with all accreditation standards and regulatory requirements, preparing necessary documentation and reports.
  6. Budget Management: Develop and manage the program budget, allocating resources effectively to support program goals and initiatives.
  7. Community Engagement: Foster relationships with healthcare facilities and industry partners to enhance program visibility and provide students with clinical placement opportunities.
  8. Quality Assurance: Implement assessment and evaluation processes to monitor program effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
  9. Strategic Planning: Contribute to the strategic planning of the department and institution, aligning the program with broader educational goals.


Requirements

Key Qualifications:

  • Education: Minimum of a Baccalaureate degree; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Credentials: Must hold the appropriate credential(s) specific to one or more sonography concentrations offered.
  • Experience: Proven experience in supervision, instruction, evaluation, and student guidance, alongside expertise in educational theories and techniques.
  • Clinical Expertise: At least two years of clinical experience as a registered sonographer.
  • Commute: Must be able to commute on-campus Mon-Fri
  • Travel: This role does require some travel within a 100 mile radius.

Preferred Experience in Educational Theories:
Candidates with completed college courses, seminars, or in-service training in learning theory, curriculum design, test construction, teaching methodologies, or assessment techniques are highly desirable.
