Stormwater Engineering Design Lead

Arcadis is seeking a Stormwater Engineering Design Lead to join our Drainage Practice in the Raleigh / Durham area.

Role description:
We have a strong backlog of work and need to expand our team. Under the direction of our established leadership team, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects that will challenge you and provide growth in your career. We have a flexible work environment allowing you to work with a team on local, national, and international projects.
Role accountabilities:
Engineering design for numerous roadway drainage and design-build projects including collector streets, urban arterials, rural and urban expressways, interstates, and bridge replacements across the southeast. Assist in all aspects of roadway drainage design including bridge hydraulic studies, culvert design, closed drainage system design, post construction water quality structures design, and erosion and sedimentation control. Prepare construction plans and project displays. Prepare cost estimates, reports and technical memos. Utilize various design software including MicroStation, Inroads, GeoPak, Open Roads, AutoCAD Civil 3d, Microsoft Excel, GIS, HEC-RAS, HY8, FlowMaster, Pond Pack, StormCAD, SMS, SRH2D, and HEC-RAS 2D to assist with the design and preparation of construction plans. Coordinate with project managers, ecologist, and roadway engineers. Direct junior engineers design activities.Required Qualifications :
7 or more years of drainage design and project management experience. Bachelors degree in Engineering Professional EngineerKey Skills/Attributes :
Experience with DOT projects In depth understanding of Bridge Hydraulics Analysis. Basic understanding of FEMA floodplain regulations Knowledge of stormwater design including open channel conveyance and closed drainage systems. Knowledge of stormwater treatment using appropriate BMPs suitable for the linear nature of transportation projects (MS4 Water Quality). Use of various software platforms including Bentleys StormCAD, CulvertMaster, FlowMaster, and Pond Pack, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HY8, ICPR, SWMM, SMS, SRH2D, and HEC-RAS 2D. Possess good communication (written and verbal), teamwork skills and the flexibility to complete a wide range of tasks including field work. Exhibit the initiative and ability to tackle new projects and other challenges regularly. Desire to teach junior staff, develop their skill sets, and progress their careers.-
