Master Data Manager

Summary - General Purpose of the Job:
Reporting to the Global Master Data Manager, the Master Data Management Manager (Americas) will have responsibility for leading the implementation of our Master and Reference Data Management program in the Americas. In addition, you will provide ongoing management and oversight for master and reference data in support of business needs. Scope of work will be the America's and will include both Financial, Sales and Operational master data. The role is responsible for:
- Ensures master data integrity in SAP and other key systems as identified. Identifies areas of data improvements. Proposes and monitors KPI's and recommendations for improvement.
- Strong Business Partner for internal IT and Internal Customers. Highly involved to communicate and to align to the internal Master Data Governance program. Looks for opportunities on how to avoid master Data conflicts.
- Assists with SAP Roll out by assisting with data cleansing and loading activities. Additional related activities as assigned. Light configuration and other duties as assigned and as capacity allows.
- Establishes and maintains strong relationships with both Functional Analysts and Business. Uses technical and process knowledge to drive engagement and process improvement.
- Work with Master Data Global Lead to design, optimize end to end master data governance processes. Facilitate strategic decisions regarding Master Data Policies, standards and procedures.
- Implement master data management standards, enforce data governance procedures and ensure data integrity across various platforms.
- Manage data migration requirements and processes
- Provide thought leadership and direction to the leadership team and developers.
- Perform all other duties and special assignments as assigned.
- Design, document and maintain data processes and flows across Master Data Management (MDG) and product lifecycle management (PLM systems/solutions.
- Mentor and provide leadership for your team which may include master data analysts as well as business support data admins. Develop and monitor metrics to evaluate the state of effectiveness of the master data program.
- Advise users as to the applicability of various alternative to meet the specific requirements and deadlines which may include SAP base functionality and Reporting, specialized configurations, extracts and business process improvements.
- Designs and assists in the design and document of business processes and procedure, the devilment of training materials and the delivery of training etc.
- Participated in various user group forums to address issue management, to field and manage enhancement request and to facilitate the exchange of information and ideas among users in a given functional are of the business.
- Maintains work plans, tracks effort and progress vs. plan, and provides appropriate status information regarding projects.
- Coordinates activities of with project team member in order to accomplish the goals of a project. Team members may be other IT staff, as well as end-user staff.
- Supervises contract consultants, programmers, and part-time clerical assistance, as needed.
- Provides secondary support for the technical hardware and communications platforms used to support application systems: would include log in's, printing, security, etc. Would act as a liaison between end-users and the IT technical group.
- Highly motivated learn new System, Processes and Business Structures.
- Other duties may be assigned, as required.
- Hires, trains, develops and evaluates employees in accordance with the policies of the organization. Assesses SAP human resources requirements in the short to medium term, and prepares plans to develop and/or recruit needed talent to achieve organization objectives.

- Strong understanding of data management principles, data governance frameworks, and best practices.
- Proficiency in SAP S/4HANA and other relevant SAP modules.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead and deliver SAP MDM projects on time and within budget.
- Strong analytical skills, IT technical skills, understanding of business operations, business ethics, problem solving ability, teamwork, leadership, effective communication skills, organizational skills, professionalism, commitment to quality.

- Requires a high level of analytical ability to evaluate master data files and assess readiness for loading
- Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Must be able to read, write and communicate fluently in English.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Must be highly skilled in the use of personal computers. This includes, PC operation, printing, file management, and the ability to use word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, and Internet tools, etc.
- Excellent Excel Skills
- Working knowledge of the following databases: Primary focus on SAP/Oracle, with experience a PC-based DB tool such as Paradox, Access, etc.
- Familiar with LSMW/LTMC
- Basic understanding of IT communications networks.

Education and/or Experience:
Formal Education Required:
- College or University degree is preferred.
- BS/BA in Information Management, Computer/Information Science, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or other related fields; or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of SAP Master Data experience, experience within a manufacturing environment preferred. Master Data Experience should include an expert level of understanding of Material Master, Vendor Master, BOM, Routing, Production, Customer Master, Quality, etc.
- Experience with MDG tools an asset.
- Ability to distinguish, learn and accept differences in business and end-user requirements.
- Ability to learn and expand technical knowledge and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized with effective and cycle time sensitive time management and project management skills.
- Read, write and communicate fluently in English.
- High experiences with Microsoft Office (Excel/ PowerPoint)
General knowledge and understanding of business operations.
- Specialize knowledge of SAP Master Data elements to include (Material Master, Business Partners (Customers/Vendors), Info Records.
- Knowledge of the SAP application software, including its functions & capabilities, reporting and support requirements.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Working knowledge of the following computing platforms: Primary focus on HP Unix, PC-Desktop and PC-LAN computing platforms.
- Working knowledge of the following databases: Primary focus on SAP/Oracle, with experience a PC-based DB tool such as Paradox, Access, etc.
- Basic understanding of IT communications networks.
SAP Training and or Certifications would be an asset.
