RoleOverview:

 

Weare looking for a Patching SME/Advisor with deep expertise in Patching as aService (PaaS) and IBM BigFix to join our consulting practice. This role willfocus on providing strategic and technical leadership for patch managementsolutions, with an emphasis on IBM BigFix and cloud-native patching strategies.The position is primarily remote, but candidates must be based in Atlanta, GA,with occasional monthly on-site engagements for team collaboration.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

1.Patching Strategy & Implementation:

 

  • Design, implement, and manage end-to-end patching strategies, leveraging IBM BigFix and other tools. 
  • Provide expertise in PaaS models, ensuring alignment with industry standards and security compliance.
  • Develop and maintain patching automation pipelines for hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

 

2.IBM BigFix Expertise:

  • Configure, manage, and optimize IBM BigFix environments for large-scale patching operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve IBM BigFix-related issues to ensure seamless patch deployment and compliance.
  • Train and mentor teams on IBM BigFix best practices and advanced functionalities.

 

3.Advisory Role:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, guiding decisions on patching technologies, processes, and tools.
  • Conduct stakeholder workshops and presentations to highlight the value of effective patch management strategies.

 

4.Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee patching operations, ensuring timely delivery, compliance with SLAs, and security requirements.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve patch management processes to enhance operational efficiency.

 

5.Collaboration & Leadership:

  • Work closely with DevOps, Security, and IT Operations teams to integrate patching solutions into broader IT strategies.
  • Provide thought leadership and contribute to CirrusLabs consulting practice in the area of patch management.
  • Deep Expertise in defining Patching Architectures for large scale implementations
  • Deep expertise in Patch Management and Patch Recovery
  • Deep expertise in Windows, Linux Patching in a global footprint across multiple data centers.
  • Adding Guardrails in AWS workstations and other virtual VMs.

 

Qualifications:

 

TechnicalExpertise:

  • Extensive experience with Patching as a Service (PaaS) and IBM BigFix, including installation, configuration, and administration.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud-native patching solutions in AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) for automation of patching workflows.

 

AdvisorySkills ::

  • Proven ability to consult with senior stakeholders and provide actionable insights into patch management strategies.
  • Experience leading discussions and delivering recommendations to align patching strategies with organizational goals.

 

Cloud& Systems Knowledge:

  • Expertise in hybrid and multi-cloud environments with a focus on scalability and security.
  • Familiarity with ITIL frameworks, compliance requirements, and security protocols related to patching.

 

Soft Skills:

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement and team collaboration.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, results-driven mindset.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as IBM BigFix Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, or Google Professional Cloud Architect.
  • Experience with ITSM platforms like ServiceNow or Jira.
