Job Summary

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for this REMOTE role, with a preference for individuals based in Texas, Florida, Indiana, Tennessee, Arkansas, North Carolina, or Georgia. The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst is responsible for transforming data into actionable insights using Power BI and the Power Platform. This role involves creating, sharing, and securing reports for both internal and external customers. The BI Analyst will evaluate data quality and significance, identify and correct data problems, and analyze patterns and trends for diagnostic and corrective purposes. The incumbent will also design processes and systems for data quality monitoring, ensure data accuracy and availability, suggest system modifications, formulate data governance strategies, and implement row-level security in Power BI reports to ensure appropriate data access.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports to support business operations and decision-making.
  2. Design and implement data models using Power BI, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and efficiency.
  3. Collaborate with data engineers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver tailored BI solutions.
  4. Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate regular performance reports for management.
  5. Implement and maintain data governance and security best practices, including row-level security and data masking in Power BI.
  6. Write and optimize DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for data calculations and transformations in Power BI.
  7. Provide training and support to end-users to enable self-service analytics and improve data literacy across the organization.
  8. Configure Power BI report sharing settings for both internal and external customers, ensuring compliance with data security policies.
  9. Perform data validation and quality assurance checks to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  10. Stay updated with the latest Power BI features and industry trends to continuously improve BI solutions.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  1. Demonstrate excellent skills in Microsoft applications, specifically Power BI.
  2. Exhibit excellent oral, written, and customer service-oriented communication skills, capable of presenting complex findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  3. Display strong critical thinking abilities with keen attention to detail.
  4. Possess excellent organizational skills, with the ability to respond to and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously under short time frames.
  5. Show the ability to work both collaboratively and independently, and to communicate professionally with internal and external customers.
  6. Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  7. Commit to data accuracy and quality, identifying data anomalies and performing thorough quality assurance checks.
  8. Adapt to working in a fast-paced and evolving environment, prioritizing and managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  9. Understand business operations and align data analysis efforts with organizational objectives and key performance indicators.

Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements

Education

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.

 Experience

  1. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of data analysis, visualization, and reporting.
  2. Proficiency in Power BI: Including experience in creating dashboards, reports, and data models, managing internal and external sharing, and implementing security measures such as row-level security.

Travel Requirements

  1. Employee will work remotely from a home-based office. Approximately 25% travel required.
