Location: Cedar Knolls, NJ with one day a week in Jefferson NJ and once a month in Bedminster, NJ

Job Summary:
The SportsCare ATC Physician Extender will work closely with the physician and healthcare team to provide high-quality care to patients, including athletes and active individuals. This role involves performing injury evaluations, assisting in the treatment and rehabilitation of sports-related injuries, and helping with patient education. The ATC Physician Extender will also contribute to the overall efficiency of the clinic or practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Evaluation and Care:
Assist in the evaluation and management of musculoskeletal injuries, including conducting initial assessments and helping with diagnosis.
Perform physical assessments (e.g., range of motion, strength testing) under the direction of the supervising physician.
Rehabilitation and Treatment:
Develop and implement rehabilitation programs for injured athletes or active individuals in collaboration with the physician and physical therapists.
Educate patients on exercises, stretches, and activity modification to promote healing and prevent re-injury.
Assist in the application of therapeutic modalities (e.g., ice, heat, ultrasound) as directed.
Documentation and Communication:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with healthcare regulations and practice policies.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team regarding progress, treatment plans, and next steps.
Assist with Injections and Procedures:
Under physician supervision, assist with basic in-office procedures such as joint injections, aspiration, or bracing and splinting.
Sports Event Coverage (if applicable):
Provide on-site athletic training support at sporting events (e.g., high school or collegiate games) as needed.
Patient Education:
Educate patients on injury prevention, strength training, and conditioning practices to avoid future injuries.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training or a related field.Certification as an Athletic Trainer (ATC) by the Board of Certification (BOC).Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in athletic training, preferably in a clinical or sports medicine setting.Experience working with sports injuries, rehabilitation, and athletic performance.Skills and Competencies:
Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and musculoskeletal injuries.Proficient in injury evaluation, rehabilitation techniques, and physical therapy modalities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.Knowledge of current sports medicine practices and injury management techniques.Licensure/Certification:
Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT) in the state of New Jersey.CPR and First Aid certification required.BOC certification required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and assist patients as needed, including moving injured athletes or patients with mobility impairments. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods during the day.
Work Environment:
The role may involve working in a clinic setting, sports facilities, and occasionally at sporting events or tournaments.
