Big Cedar Lodge is Hiring a Head Golf Professional to Lead Golf Operations at Ozarks National

Position Summary:


As a member of the Big Cedar Golf Leadership Team the Head Golf Professional has the responsibility for the overall management of the golf operation while working cooperatively with other departments. 


Will provide technical and managerial supervision of the Golf Shop, Outside Operations, Practice Facilities, and Cart Fleet, etc., while promoting the game of golf by organizing special events and providing golf instruction.

Essential Functions Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee the reservation/tee sheet system, check-in experience, pace of play, etc. Track and verify all players and guests, green fees, golf carts, club care, lockers, and other charges necessary, and facilitate accurate accounting and recordkeeping Oversee golf cart fleet while ensuring proper maintenance and recordkeepingManage an innovative tournament program and proficient in Golf Genius software Oversee the operations of the practice facilityEnsure the proper storage, safety, and cleaning of golf equipmentAdminister the Rules of Golf and educate associates.Develop, maintain, update, and utilize customer database Make providing excellent service a top priority. Consistently produce five-star service through proper training. Along with hiring the right people who enjoy serving others.Oversee retail merchandise in step with the mission of the golf operation and facilityMaintain a profitable golf merchandising operationAssist in the development of buying plans and all golf related purchasingSupervise physical inventories, present a diverse and desirable array of golf equipment, apparel and accessoriesAssist in the development of necessary systems utilizing POS to safeguard inventories and cashEstablish accurate recordkeeping policies and proceduresSupervise and train all golf shop staff to maximize sales opportunitiesEnsure customer database includes and tracks important dates, spending, sizes, preferencesMaintain an attractive and orderly appearance in and around the golf shopConduct accurate and timely inventory countsAssist with the training of the full facility staff in regard to player development and encourage their participationRecruit, hire, train, motivate, and supervise all golf operations staff and maintain accurate payroll records Ensure evaluations and annual reviews are completed and recorded for all applicable staffAttend staff meetings as scheduled by leadership and schedule staff meetings with golf operations associatesUpdate and maintain golf shop policies and procedures and job descriptions and ensure they are adhered to and posted in the proper areasMaintain safety standards and safety equipment within OSHA requirementsAdhere to, enforce, and implement policies and procedures of Big Cedar Golf & BCLResponsible for the financial and operational performance of the golf shop operations and golf servicesEnsure all financial goals and objectives are being achievedAssist in the development and preparation of budgets, including forecasting and review of all golf operations revenues and expenses on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basisEnsure systems controls are in place to safeguard assets, revenues, and resourcesWork closely with all department heads to achieve the goals and objectives of the facilityMaintain a close working relationship with the Golf Course Superintendent and provide advice on course playability and tournament set upCoordinate plans with the Food and Beverage Manager for food and beverage needs for all golf functionsMaintain PGA of America membership in good standing in an active classificationActively pursue PGA membership (if a PGA Associate) in a timely manner through the PGA Professional Golf Management (PGA PGM) programFundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operationsAct as a role model for all employees by demonstrating the behavior and work ethic expected of all employeesStrong organizational, planning and prioritization skillsSelf-motivated with desire to promote and marketExperienced in written and oral business communicationsRemain up-to-date on customer relationship management tactics and strategies Experienced computer user including; Microsoft Word and Excel. Candidate Profile:

Associate's degree or equivalent, with at least 3 years of experience in the field. Valid membership in the PGA of America preferred; or PGA of America Apprentice progressing toward a Class A membership enrolled in at least Level 2 PGA PGM. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the industry Self-motivated with a passion for hospitality Detail oriented A safe driving record, and a MO Class E driver’s license.
