Product Manager, Nursing Workflows

The Opportunity:
You will fill a critical role on our athenaClinicals team within our Product Management organization where you will drive product design, development and deployment of workflows and services related to our electronic health record product. You will do so in an exciting, collaborative and fast-paced environment driven by a desire to enable more efficient and effective care. In this role, you will work closely with multidisciplinary team members to drive execution of high-quality solutions to complex problems that delight users and deliver business results.

Position Summary:
The Product Manager is responsible for one product area within the overarching athenaClinicals Product’s portfolio; specifically, this role is focusing on identifying and implementing enhancements to nursing workflows that will improve efficiency and increase satisfaction. In this role, you will have a deep understanding of the market, customer, users and functionality owned by the Clinician Experience zone. You will contribute to a product vision, develop business cases, ensure a product or set of product features/issue solutions meets business requirements, engage with Product Management leadership and client facing stakeholders (client support, customer success managers, etc.) and drive the creation and delivery of the product. This position will work daily within a scrum team defining and writing user stories, prioritizing product backlogs, and making trade off decisions between scope and schedule.

The Team: Our Clinician Experience Zone is a passionate group of Product Management, Engineering, User Experience, Analytic and Patient Safety professionals. We collaborate to deliver an efficient, tailored, and intuitive experience for our healthcare providers so they can deliver high quality patient care.

This is a hybrid role with the expectation to be in the Boston, MA office one day a week.


Responsibilities:

Serve as Product Owner for scrum teams covering assigned product area

Represent the customer for assigned product area, demonstrating responsibility for end-to-end customer journey and touchpoints

Drive ongoing backlog allocations and prioritization of customer issues to solve within area of responsibility

Partner with UX to research the problem space, identify the user needs, and conceptualize a solution

Identify and frame user-centered problems effectively

Define epics and user stories, clearly articulating business requirements and acceptance criteria for the problems we’re trying to solve - including UX/CX/Support requirements

Partner with UX in UI/UX design development and partner with Engineering in the development of the features

Identify and track metrics and success criteria to create transparency and visibility to program success and opportunities for improvement – Requesting analyses to inform backlog

Support fix and feature rollouts through alpha, beta and general availability by collaborating with customer-facing teams, analyzing feature impact, and preparing communications

Partner with Product Management leaders to drive portfolio and product strategy

Engage with Sales, CS, Product Knowledge, and other internal partner teams on customer issues, including understanding problems and impact and communicating product decisions and next steps

Travel to customer sites across the country for user research; 10% or less


Typical Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is required

Understanding of healthcare / health IT environment preferred

5+ years of overall professional experience; 2-4 years of formal product management experience or related experience driving results cross-functionally

Agile experience or certification a plus

Demonstrated ability to distill complex problems and design effective and scalable solutions

Demonstrated success at driving innovative results in a fast-paced environment and managing simultaneously competing priorities using analytic and quantitative capabilities

Experience working with stakeholders in a business environment across global, cross-functional groups

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain your positioning to stakeholders throughout the company in an effective way
