About this opportunity:

The Program Director plans, directs, coordinates, and monitors the day-to-day operations of a Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program in the Western Kentucky region, under the direction of the Divisional Director of Social Services. The Program Directorprovides training and supervision for all program staff, overseeing three offices serving a multi-county region; Ensures program is administered with established policies and procedures and budget constraints; Builds and maintains effective working relationships with the funding organization, Veteran Community Medical Centers, HUD VASH program staff, and community agencies to make appropriate client referrals and ensure Veterans have access to needed resources. Travel is required up to 35%.

What we are looking for in you:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Human Services, or a related social services field,

And

Four years’ experience performing progressively responsible social service case management work, with a preference for candidates with prior experience with VA SSVF and prior supervisory experience;

Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to meet attendance requirements.

Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.

Ability to think clearly and quickly in order to maintain control of client caseload.

Ability to effectively and efficiently work on multiple cases at the same time without becoming frustratedor disorganized.

Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.

Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.
