What you will do
Working within the Chief Operating Office of PGIM Portfolio Advisory (“PPA”), and reporting to the Director of Portfolio Analytics, the candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of initiatives, building out and managing analytical processes and reporting for both clients and internal portfolio management. You will be part of dynamic team with broad responsibilities and will need to be a strategic creative thinker and entrepreneurial self-starter who is eager to drive one of Prudential’s and PGIM’s most important strategic initiatives. You will be expected to bring and express new ideas and perspectives helping us grow and evolve.
This position is based out of our Newark, NJ office. Our organization follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely or from the office, as needed, based on the demands of specific tasks or personal work preferences. Working from the office is encouraged when working on tasks that require a high degree of collaboration.
What You Can Expect
· Evolve from a new platform launch through the strategic build out to support an aggressive business growth plan as PPA onboard new clients and AUM
· Develop a deep understanding of client needs and key processes across the PPA Investment management lifecycle which impact client portfolios
· Leverage existing experience in investment management processes (liability driven investments a plus) and systems to drive portfolio management decisions and client results
· Understand analytical needs (and requests), develop an understanding of portfolio construction, sources of investment portfolio data and with a solutions based mindset to develop and enhance processes to support new clients and enhance how PPA is supporting existing clients (Clients will include External Clients, as well as PPA portfolio management and PPA Risk Management)
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the development and implementation of customized solutions in support of unique business and client needs
· Partner with PGIM Operations, PGIM investment management affiliates, and Prudential to build infrastructure and connectivity supporting new initiatives
· Define critical processes and reporting needs for both client and internal business management working closely across all areas of the business.
· Design and implement new portfolio management tools and reporting including liquidity, cash forecasting, and portfolio positioning by coordinating across portfolio management, treasury and derivative operations functions.
· Analytical and inquisitive mind set to analyze portfolio information.
· Build and manage a strong control environment
· Strong manager capabilities to oversee and mange a small high impact team
· Work on ad hoc projects and analysis to support COO
· Independently prioritize and lead various project work.
What You Will Bring
· Bachelor's degree required with a major in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, or Information Systems
· 5-7+ years of experience in investment operations, treasury, FP&A, accounting, or project management in financial services Industry
· Strong understanding of various investment security types and investment concepts
· Ability to lead strategic discussions with senior leadership
· Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as, in a team environment
· Strong PC skills with proficiency in MS Excel and comfortable with mid-level data manipulation
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Ability to organize/prioritize tasks and work in a deadline-oriented environment
· Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills
· Good organizational skills, resourcefulness, and attention to detail
· Flexibility and ability to multi-task/juggle multiple assignments and meet deadlines and changing priorities
What will set you apart
· Experience in Asset Management and/or Capital Markets.
· Experience with various reporting and business intelligence tools such as Tableau
