Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and experienced Toddler Teacher to join our team You will be leading a class of students age 18-36 months through the school year, assessing their current academic level, and designing instruction to meet students’ collective and individual needs. We are a state-funded preschool, therefore all of our teachers must be qualified via Title 5 standards. 

If you are passionate about learning and helping students reach their potential, then this job is a great fit for you We want a teacher with strong creative and problem-solving skills, that will love connecting with individual students and creating an engaging classroom environment. 

Shift is 8:00pm - 5:00pm

Responsibilities
  • Create and follow a comprehensive lesson plan utilizing our FunShine Express curriculum
  • Teach beginning reading and math skills
  • Assist children with developing social and emotional skills
  • Use a range of instructional methods and learning techniques
  • Communicate with parents and other school personnel via in-person communication, as well as our CareConnect and ChildFolio parent connection apps
  • Assess student's skills and performance via twice-annual DRDP assessments to ensure they are meeting developmental milestones
Title 5 Qualifications
  • Associate Teacher permit or higher (or willingness to obtain)
  • Qualifications include minimum 12 semester units in ECE coursework including at least 3 units in the following coursework areas:
    • Child and Human Growth and Development
    • Child, Family, and Community
    • Programs and Curriculum
    • Infant and Toddler Development (preferred)
  • 50 days of experience in an instructional capacity in a child care and development program, working at least three hours per day within the last two years. 
Other Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in education and classroom management
  • Knowledge of Desired Results Developmental Profile assessments preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to undergo fingerprinting and background check 
  • Willingness to complete Mandated Reporter, Pest Management, Sexual Harassment, and Child and Adult CPR trainings
  • Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ability to closely adhere to the guidelines
  • Problem-solving and mediation skills
