TRAVELING MERCHANDISER

 

SUMMARY:

The Traveling Merchandiser coordinates and monitors the Company’s merchandising system in each location.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

The Traveling Merchandiser must:

  • Complete and pass a drug and alcohol screen, background screen, and Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
    • Clean driving record is a must
  • Have minimum 5+ years’ experience in a similar retail merchandising environment.
  • Travel 80-90% throughout a multi-state territory.
  • Speak, write, and communicate effectively in the English language.
  • Interpret written, oral, diagrams, and schedule-form instructions.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office products (i.e., Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary job duties and responsibilities of the Traveling Merchandiser include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Order and arrange planograms.
  • Rearrange and reset store merchandise alongside on-site team members.
  • Discuss special instructions, product promotions, new products, featured products, and price changes with all staff at each site.
  • Observe company product displays, remove damaged or freshness-dated products, tidy store shelves, and optimize product displays.
  • Observe competitor merchandising displays and pricing for comparison.
  • Produce monthly reports and present results to leadership.
  • Maintain quality results by enhancing merchandising and organization by accomplishing new and different requests and exploring value-added opportunities.
  • Observe and enforce compliance of company’s proprietary programs and procedures.
  • Attend and participate in job knowledge educational opportunities, read professional publications, maintain personal networks, and participate in professional organizations.
  • Attend and participate in all company-sponsored training, when required.
  • Perform other assigned duties, responsibilities, or tasks.

 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMAND:

The Traveling Merchandiser will:

  • Work in both an indoor and outdoor setting.
  • Occasionally lift/move objects up to 80 pounds, stand, and walk.
  • Regularly sit, use hands, reach with arms and hands, talk, and hear.
