Support Center - IrvingThe Real Estate Project Specialist is responsible for supporting the management of the real estate pipeline process for Michaels. This position will support the management of the North American new store and lease renewal pipeline and processing packages for real estate approval meetings. Responsibilities include processing Lease Actions and capital deals, from planning to initiating and completing negotiations and final approval and lease documentation.

Major Activities

Provide guidance and support for approval and processing of capital deals (managing internal and external discussions, timelines, etc.) as requested by Director/Manager or regional team Support the lease renewal pipeline process and processing renewals through the real estate committee Support ad hoc real estate projects, internal coordination of business partners, tracking progress and follow-up, and gathering materials for real estate-related opportunities Provide guidance, support and will be primarily responsible for approval and processing of all lease renewal and new store deals once approved Support and maintain new and existing store pipeline status reporting for corporate senior leadership Work with Director/Manager to support the annual development of the Portfolio Market Plan across multiple business partners Support process to manage and document ad hoc landlord portfolio package negotiations Maintain external tracking documents for sharing material between Michaels and landlord and use them for follow-ups to meet expected response times on both sides Provide guidance and support for real estate law to complete lease documentation Coordinate and track project activities, ensuring adherence to established schedules and deadlines Monitor project progress, identify potential issues or delays, and proactively propose solutions or mitigation strategies

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field

Minimum Special Certifications or Technical Skills

5+ years of professional work experience in a project management and/or analytical role Proven experience in project coordination or a similar role within the real estate industry Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with exceptional attention to detail Proficiency in project management software or related tools Must be data-oriented and have proven ability to interpret and manage data and processes Must have great attention to detail and work well under pressure with consistent accuracy Must be comfortable presenting and working in cross-functional teams in a professional, mature manner Proven track record of supporting processes that span or impact cross-functional teams Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and able to prioritize in a fast-paced environment Strong oral and written communication skills

Minimum Type of Experience the Job Requires

Experience with Real Estate transactions/deal processes Must be an advanced user of MS Office, which includes Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
