Our laboratory serves as the backbone of patient care, performing a wide range of diagnostic tests on blood, tissue, and other body fluids. As a Medical Technologist, you'll be a critical member of our team, conducting these essential analyses to help physicians diagnose and treat diseases, monitor treatment effectiveness, and ensure patient safety.
Responsibilities:
- Perform a comprehensive range of laboratory analyses using sophisticated equipment, following established protocols and procedures.
- Prepare specimens for testing, ensuring proper collection, labeling, and handling of samples.
- Analyze test results meticulously, interpreting data and identifying potential abnormalities.
- Communicate findings effectively to healthcare professionals, providing clear and concise reports.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of laboratory procedures, results, and observations.
- Participate in quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment according to established protocols.
- Stay up-to-date on advancements in laboratory medicine and best practices.
- May participate in research projects or educational initiatives (depending on the department).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) or a closely related field (required).
- Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) in a relevant area (highly preferred).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting (a plus).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in computer skills and laboratory information systems (LIS).
- Adherence to safety protocols and aseptic techniques.
