UPMC - University of Pittsburgh Medical Center is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in the Operating Room. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures, working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and maintain a sterile environment for surgical procedures, including setting up surgical instruments and equipment.
- Assist surgeons and surgical assistants during procedures, passing instruments and supplies as needed.
- Monitor and maintain equipment, ensuring it is functioning properly and safely.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and advancements in surgical technology.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Technologist Surgery Certified (TSC) is required.
- 2 years of current surgical technician experience that demonstrates advanced knowledge of at least 2 surgical specialties.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals.
