Responsibilities Whitney, Bailey, Cox & Magnani, LLC, now a division of TranSystems, is excited to announce we are seeking a Transportation Planner specializing in Asset Management. This job is located in Baltimore but can be remote with some travel required. What you'll be challenged to do: Support client transportation asset management programs. Provide Transportation Performance Management (TPM) related planning and analysis for achieving national performance goals such as safety, infrastructure condition, congestion reduction, and system reliability. Perform data analysis and modeling, analyzing collected data to identify trends, predict future infrastructure needs, and assess the effectiveness of various maintenance and investment strategies. Understand principles of multi-modal transportation networks and associated asset infrastructure. Lead or support development of Transportation Asset Management Plans (TAMPs), Asset Management Plans (AMPs), and Lifecycle Management Plans (LMPs) in collaboration with agency stakeholders. Use data and analysis to recommend priorities for infrastructure projects and work within budgeting teams to assess current and future funding for these projects. Use GIS and analysis tools to evaluate data, prepare projections, and model trends. Apply principles of data management and data science to perform transportation planning and analysis. Understand program reporting requirements and develop/advise on strategies to facilitate compliance. Plan, implement, and document strategies for program development/compliance. Prepare written documentation including meeting minutes, standard operating procedures, white papers, memos, technical reports, and program plans. Provide project planning services including project initiation, communication management and risk management. Prepare presentation materials for presentations given by clients. Prepare presentation materials and present on program/project related topics. Provide subject matter expertise to guide and inform client programs. Support efforts to streamline client processes while aligning to program goals. Assist with preparation of Technical and Price Proposals. Develop Progress Reports and review invoices for completeness and accuracy. Direct client, sub-consultant, and in-house staff coordination utilizing professional communication skills, both verbally and written. Make confident and timely decisions. Anticipate and mitigate conflicts/issues and complete projects within the budget, while satisfying the client’s expectations. Monitor work of Sub-Consultants to ensure completion of work on time and within budget, including technical review of their work. Provide Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) reviews of technical reports, documents, or proposals prepared by others. Enhance expertise through continued learning. Actively participate in professional and/or technical organizations. This is a primarily remote position with occasional on-site requirements based on company or client expectations. Qualifications What you bring to our firm: 4+ years of experience in long-range transportation and/or strategic transportation organizational planning. S. in an applicable field. Experience with Department of Transportation (DOT) organizations (Local or State) is preferred. Asset management program support experience is preferred. Proficient in ArcGIS and Microsoft Office suite. Professional written & oral communication skills. Highly effective organization, coordination, and file management skills. Process and detail-oriented work style. Excellent client management skills. Ability to understand and interpret client and regulatory requirements to ensure successful project completion. Ability to organize, prioritize, and deliver multiple projects efficiently. Willingness to work with and learn from teammates of all levels. Ability to grow to the next level of leadership and success. Team oriented, self-motivated, and proactive. Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation. Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.
