A day in the life
FBA team focuses on driving seller growth and reducing costs for the fast-growing FBA business by effectively managing our supply chain. Sellers are a critical part of Amazon’s ecosystem to deliver on our vision of offering our customers the Earth’s largest selection and lowest prices. FBA enables Sellers to provide fast and efficient delivery to customers using Amazon fulfillment services. In 2022, Sellers used FBA to fulfill billions of customer orders, shipping more than half of all products offered on Amazon. To our customers, FBA provides a broad and diverse inventory of products from apparel, books, electronics, to consumables with many of them available with 1-Day shipping. This is a unique space where we innovate using various management science tools, such as optimization, econometrics, machine learning, market/contract design, behavioral and experimental sciences to solve novel problems at scale. We work full stack, from foundational back-end systems to future-forward user interfaces.

Our culture is centered on rapid prototyping, rigorous experimentation, and data-driven decision-making. As mentioned by Jeff Bezos in his annual letter to shareholders, FBA is one of the strategic long-term opportunities for the company to improve the lives of sellers and buyers while leveraging our logistics infrastructure to generate increasing free cash flow and triple digit return on invested capital. Our long-term vision is that customers can order and receive a seller’s product the same day anywhere in the world.
