The Physical Sciences Department at RTRC is seeking a test engineer in the area of high temperature materials testing. This position will be an integral member of a dynamic team focused on accelerated development of next generation high temperature materials for both aerospace and defense applications. The role will be responsible for the operation, maintenance and future development of unique high temperature test rigs, including data processing, analysis, and reporting. The preferred candidate should have a strong understanding of basic engineering principles and must be able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary, collaborative team environment focused on innovation
Qualifications You Must Have:
Minimum of 4years of experience in a laboratory or materials testing environment
Direct, hands-on experience with pressure, flow, or temperature measurement hardware
Basic level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) or similar productivity software
Strong problem solving, organizational, and documentation skills
Ability to execute multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize tasking to meet project deadlines
US citizenship
The candidate must be capable of operating safely and independently in a laboratory environment while also being comfortable working with others from a variety of backgrounds.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Prior experience in one of the following would be beneficial: metrology; fabrication, operation or maintenance of test apparatus; creation of documentation for test procedures or standard work.
Proficiency with LabView programming and control is strongly preferred. Experience with standard laboratory and life safety systems (e.g., gas alarms, equipment interlocks) is of interest.
Education:
BS in Materials, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or related technical field with 2 years of relative experience.

Requires theoretical to advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through University Degree combined with experience. Practical knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.
Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience.
Engineering/Other Technical Positions:Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics(STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
