Position Summary:Works under the supervision of a Certified Land Surveyor and Survey Crew Chief and maintains responsibility for obtaining and computing data relevant to measuring the land’s features for company projects. This position works diligently to collect field data to report back to the Land Surveyor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Sets up, adjusts, and operates the equipment used at surveying job sites.
  • Measures, records and calculates data based on readings from surveying instruments.
  • Lies out and recovers markings, stakes, and other such signifiers at work locations.
  • Communicate with the management team, regulatory agencies, and clients regarding land surveying schedules, activities, and results, as necessary.
  • Prepares and submits progress reports as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, working outside
  • Ability to meet established deadlines
  • Ability to comply with safety procedures

Physical Demands and Work Environment:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include those required for reading, writing, typing, and distance viewing. This position will be working primarily outdoors. The noise level may vary significantly from day to day and may range from low to high.
