Summary:

Under the supervision of the program RRS Associate Senior Director – Resettlement and Transitional Programs, the program manager is responsible for the continued development of the Interpreter and Translation Services (ITS) social enterprise of Catholic Charities, which provides fee-based services for the San Antonio, Bexar County and the surrounding area at affordable competitive rates. This position is responsible to educate and implement contracts with eternal service providers to assist persons who are Limited English Proficient and have the right to request an interpreter to fulfill communication requirements under Title VI Civil Rights Act of 1964, when providing social, medical and legal services. In addition, the ITS Manger is responsible for supervise, coordinate assignments, recruiting, maintaining, and training a professional pool of contract interpreters that represent the language needs of the local community.

Position Responsibilities:

*The manager will be responsible for recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and training new employees under their supervision. Will make recommendations for termination. *Coordinate with customers, clients, and interpreters *Research, develop, and implement improvements to maintain quality and increase the effectiveness, efficiency, and timeliness of the interpreter scheduling system. *Provide training to groups of interpreters and other social service providers as needed. *Participate in marketing and outreach events and monitor competitors and market conditions. *Develop and make presentations of language support services to current and potential clients. *Negotiate with clients and potential clients’ cost-effective language support services and Develop sales proposals, prepare and present sales contracts. *Represent ITS as a voice of quality at events and elsewhere as needed *Responsible for collecting all the work orders and submitting a report by the end of each month. Ensure customer service satisfaction and good client relationships; follow up on service delivery activity. Other duties as assigned by the Associate Senior Director.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/Experience

o bachelor’s degree in business related field with at least two years’ experience in sales

o or 1-3 years’ experience in the language service industry preferred.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills:

Extensive working knowledge of file documentation and Record keeping. Experience with computer software and Microsoft Office, E-mail, and Internet (i.e., Microsoft software preferred and PDF). A solid grasp of Non-profit Organization and Time Management. Must be detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and work well independently and on a team. Must have good written and verbal skills. Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Must be able to work in a culturally sensitive way with people of various backgrounds. Must be able to maintain appropriate ethical boundaries and professional client relationships. Must Have a clean Driving record. Must have a personnel reliable vehicle. Computer applications such as word processing software, spreadsheets, databases, and data management systems. Principles, practices, and techniques used in project planning, management, training, and program evaluation. Work with interpreters and/or with people needing accommodations. Analyze and interpret data and compile written reports. Interpret and apply rules and instructions. Analyze policy or procedural problems and recommend and implement solutions. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Work effectively in a team environment and independently with limited supervision. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with internal and external customers.
