Job Description:

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

Oversee Box Office/Ticket sales for all Music, Theatre and Dance events and productions at the Casino Theatre, Megley Blackbox, Ochre Court, and Angelus Hall. Ensure Box Office issues are resolved around the clock. Manage the house during performances. Assist with coordination of production-related elements.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

The specific duties and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

Act as house manager for all events as needed; train and schedule all other house managers, box office staff, ushers and volunteers. Maintain the Casino Theatre calendar; schedule rehearsals and performances so they appear on the University calendar. Schedule equipment load-ins and loadouts, piano moves and tunings, ushers, parking, security, concessions, and custodial coverage for rehearsals and events. Communicate building, event, and life safety policies and procedures. Complete additional duties and/or responsibilities as assigned.

Schedule

Approximately 20 hours/week during the academic year not including holidays and winter break. October - May.


Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in theatre preferred. House management experience. Ability and willingness to regularly work a flexible and varied schedule including evenings and weekends. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to problem solve and work with people. Professional appearance. Ability to maintain organization, strict accuracy and be detail-oriented. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently as well as with others and be self-motivated.
