Job Description Summary

The Graduate Student Assistant is responsible for working with students, faculty, andsimulation staff during simulation experiences and remediation within the School of NursingSimulation Center.

ESSENTIALFUNCTIONSANDRESPONSIBILITIES
1.Assisting Simulation Leadership in the day to day duties of managing student
activities in the Simulation Center
2.Assisting Simulation Coordinators in set up of Nursing Course’s simulation
experiences and skills day sessions
3.Run the simulators, manage student FCOs (Filmed Check-Offs), and use various
other forms of technology during student simulation experiences
4.PerformasStandardizedPatientsfordifferentstudentSimulation-Based
Experiences
5.Assisting with Nurse Camp as a student leader as needed
6.Other duties as assigned
 

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Education and Experience
The GSA must be a current, full-time Liberty University graduate student and maintain a 3.0
GPA or higher. Candidate must be able to work 20-hours per week, with 8 hours on
Mondays and Fridays.Must have well-developed communications skills with ability to
work, communicate and interact comfortably with students, and faculty.

Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.

Physical and Sensory Abilities

Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally.

Often required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the building.

Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business.

Regularly lift 50 or fewer pounds.

WORKINGCONDITIONS
Work Environment
The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this
position is a climate-controlled Simulation Center setting. It is well lighted, and the noise
level is moderate. (Define if outdoor, dusty, weather conditions, etc.)

Driving is not required as part of this position
