Evoke is seeking a Network/VOIP Engineer to join our team 

*This position can be worked from either Washington, DC or Gettysburg, PA*

Responsibilities:

Design, configure, and troubleshoot Cisco VOIP systems and related network infrastructure.Maintain and optimize performance of the VOIP infrastructure, ensuring high availability and reliability.Collaborate with IT teams to integrate VOIP systems with other network services.Manage the installation and configuration of network hardware, including routers, switches, and firewalls.Monitor network performance and security, implementing enhancements as needed.Provide technical support and guidance on network and VOIP issues to internal teams.Develop and maintain documentation related to network configurations, processes, and procedures.Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support and perform regular system upgrades.Train staff on new technologies and assist in the development of training materials.Strong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF), and technologies.Proficiency in network hardware and software, including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, etc.Detailed understanding of network security principles and best practices.Experience with network monitoring tools and LAN/WAN systems.Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to communicate technical concepts effectively.

Professional Experience and Skills:

Strong understanding of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, UDP, SIP, SCCP) and VOIP technologies.Proficiency with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE), and other Cisco communication platforms.Experience with network security practices and network performance tuning.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Cisco certifications such as CCNP or CCVP are highly preferred.

Education and Years of Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.0-2+ years of experience in network engineering with a focus on Cisco VOIP systems.Relevant industry certifications such as CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent.
