The Wayfarer Restaurant is seeking a full-time Server Assistant/Expo to join our growing restaurant team The wage for this position is $18.50 hourly plus tips with great benefits The Server Assistant/Expo is responsible for ensuring the dining room is neat and clean at all times, and all necessary goods are fully stocked.

Responsibilities  
  • Removes dishes from tables
  • Cleans and resets tables 
  • Helps run food that's ready to the tables
  • Assists servers with serving guests water, coffee refills, condiments, etc.
  • Sets up and maintains work stations
  • Coordinate food orders between the kitchen staff and servers
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared according to the menu and meet quality standards
  • Garnish and plate dishes for presentation
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and serving staff to maintain efficiency
  • Monitor food inventory levels and replenish supplies as needed
  • Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and expo areas
Qualifications
  • Minimum High School diploma or GED required
  • Oregon state food handler certification 
  • Excellent oral communication skills required 
  • Positive interpersonal skills required 
  • Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is preferred
  • Hospitality experience preferred 
  • Knowledge of culinary terms and practices is a plus
  • Familiarity with banquet or bussing procedures is beneficial
  • Understanding of kitchen operations and food safety protocols
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability and flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
