The successful candidate will assist the Deputy Director with implementation of compliance programs, resolution of legal issues, creation of policy and procedure, and data and file maintenance.

Master's degree with Administrative endorsement OR Juris Doctorate with school and/or Civil Rights experience is required; Working knowledge and experience dealing with student discipline laws and regulations in Tennessee, Title IX, Title VI, and other Civil Rights complaints and investigations; Familiarity with guidelines of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973; and Knowledge of PreK-12 education laws, regulations and procedures regarding student rights, discipline, and civil rights.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

District Title IX Coordinator and Investigator. Conduct investigations under Title IX, IV, VI, or other Civil Rights laws. Assist and conduct student discipline hearings as necessary. Regularly audit Board procedures, practices, and documents to identify possible weaknesses or risk. Work with local Law Enforcement when students have been criminally charged or adjudicated. Aid in the development and review of Board of Education policies and procedures. Assist with administrative processes and procedures. Handle the process of all parent requests for educational records for a student including student videos, amending educational records, student discipline appeals, and alternative school placement changes. Resolve employee concerns about legal compliance.

This is a 260-day (12 months) assignment with insurance and retirement benefits. Salary will be determined by placement on the Miscellaneous Salaries Pay Scale.
