Medical Assistant Duties:

  • Take appropriate vital signs, review current med and record in medical record
  • Assist in tracking and monitoring department specific date.
  • Explain policies, procedures, or services to patient’s baes on scope and practice.
  • Set up exam/procedure rooms.
  • Clean and re-process equipment and supplies following department guidelines
  • Administer immunization, injections or oral medications as directed by provider
  • Draw and prepare designated lab work specimens as directed

Medical Assistant Qualifications:

  • Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma from a DAPIP accredited program- AAMA, AMCA, AMT, CCBMA, MMCI
  • Experience with medical insurance, referral processes and benefit plans
  • 1 years working as an MA in an outpatient clinic or medical office setting
  • Proficiency with blood/lab draws and venipuncture
  • Experience with Epic
  • Experience with Quest Diagnostic lab submissions
  • Phlebotomy certification
  • Medical terminology
