Job DescriptionRole: Maritime Robotics and Autonomous Systems Engineer, Group 76, Student Technical Assistant
The Control and Autonomous Systems Engineering Group at MIT Lincoln Laboratory is seeking a Maritime Robotics and Autonomous Systems Engineer to support our group’s innovation within the field of autonomous systems.
Requirements- A B.S. in Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field with dedicated coursework in robotics, control theory, and programming
- Currently pursuing a PhD in robotics engineering or a related field
- Expertise in one of the following (multiple desired):
- Design and fabrication of maritime robotics platforms (e.g., USVs, UUVs)
- Adaptive control
- Multi-agent and collaborative autonomy
- Strong programming skills in a systems language (e.g., C++ or Rust), a numerical analysis language (e.g., Julia, MATLAB, or Python), and a scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash, or Lua)
- Experience developing software with ROS/ROS2 in Linux environments is desired
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a dynamic, interdisciplinary team
- Strong communication skills with the ability to coherently convey complex technical details
Selected candidate will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD security clearance.
