Job Title: Technical Coordinator

Join Oak View Group as a Technical Coordinator and play a crucial role in ensuring the technical theatre needs of our clients are met within the Opera House, Rupp Arena, and Convention Center. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring client satisfaction and ensuring all technical requirements are safe for staff and patrons.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with clients to design, develop, and lead the implementation of all technical theatrical needs in our event spaces.
  • Meet with clients to determine their technical needs and establish a professional, productive relationship.
  • Communicate with other departments and outside vendors to relay pertinent information for timely planning and delivery of services to clients.
  • Prepare costing estimates for clients and obtain approval for any changes or additional costs.
  • Create purchase orders to procure necessary equipment and services from outside vendors.
  • Maintain accurate records and accounting of all equipment and services provided.
  • Supervise IASTE theatrical stage hands and provide leadership and work well with others under sometimes difficult and stressful situations.
  • Install, operate, and maintain theatrical systems, including lighting rigs, audio PA, and video systems.
Qualifications:
  • Three or more years of work experience in event operation and technical services of a large building complex and/or an Arena/Convention Center and/or a Performing Arts Center.
  • Ability to manage time effectively, work as part of a team, and coordinate and handle several tasks concurrently.
  • Must have good organizational and planning skills, flexibility to work staggered shifts and irregular hours, and ability to operate a forklift truck.
  • Able to utilize hand tools, move about facilities, and climb stairs, ladders, and lift-platforms.
  • Knowledge of building operations, construction, maintenance, electronic testing equipment, and OSHA and building safety requirements.
Working Conditions:
  • Frequent exposure to loud noises, low lighting, changes in air quality and temperature.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
Physical/Mental Requirements:
  • Requires a full range of body motions, including seeing and hearing to normal range.
  • Job requires routine standing, walking, stooping, bending, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, speaking, hearing, and visually checking work assignments.
