As a RIS (Refugee and Immigrant Services) Medical Programs Supervisor, you will be primarily responsible for supervising the medical team across all RIS programs and enhancing the medical services delivered to refugee and immigrant adults and/or children in the Preferred Communities Program and the Refugee Enhanced Health Program. This individual is also responsible for ensuring quality services and efficient operations. The Medical Programs Supervisor will oversee contract activities and requirements, as well as develop and maintain community partnerships.

This position is expected to function effectively with moderate supervision while following the guidelines given on procedures, along with agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise program staff, conducting team supervision meetings with all direct reports in program on a regular basis; Promote effective operations through hiring, training, and orientation of new hires; Build and sustain a cohesive team while cultivating a positive employee morale; Ensure compliance with all contracts related to assigned programs to include overseeing case file completion and regular file review. Complete required contract reporting in collaboration with the Program Director; Actively participate in contract related webinars, conference calls, and conferences; Participate in regularly scheduled supervisor meetings and two annual planning meetings; Ensure agency policies and procedures are enforced through employee performance evaluations, conference request, time sheets, and reimbursement vouchers; Assist program staff in preparing for new arrivals with intensive medical issues; Actively participate in West Michigan Refugee Health Collaborative; Conduct refugee orientation for medical offices and front line office staff; Develop and maintain relationships with community partners to include but not limited: PCP offices, mental health services, case management services, disability services, and other university medical programs; Manage employee vacation scheduling to ensure adequate coverage for program service needs; Develop and maintain an understanding of current issues through personal reading, attendance at related seminars, participation in related task forces and committees; Participate in branch and national Bethany initiatives and working groups, as requested; Assist the Program Director in providing leadership in service expansion opportunities; Stay up to date on current industry trends and theories while recommending changes in agency policies and practices when appropriate; Attend training as needed and apply newly gained knowledge in providing service; Complete other duties as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or equivalent field of study from an accredited college, Master’s level degree preferred; Prior experience with refugee and immigrant populations; Prior work experience with medical case management or health administration; At least one (1) year of experience managing others; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Work well under pressure and adaptable to change; Must possess the ability to engage, and communicate effectively with a diverse group of individuals; Demonstrated cross-cultural sensitivity; Computer skillssufficient to perform essential functions including knowledge of MicrosoftOffice suite; Must be 21 years old with a valid driver’slicense with at least 3 years driving experience in the to operate avehicle on behalf of Bethany. Must also pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR)check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate insurancecoverage; Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries; Subscription to andintegration of the agency Statement of Faith and Mission Statement.
