Position Title: Brand Copywriter (Kitchen)

Location: Hoboken, NJ

Reports to: Copy Manager

Newell Brands is seeking a talented and imaginative Brand Writer to join our creative team to support Newell’s stable of heritage-rich, iconic brands, including Graco, Baby Jogger, Crock-Pot, Calphalon, Rubbermaid, Marmot, Coleman, Sharpie, Elmer’s, to name a few.

As a Brand Writer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the voice and narrative of our brand across various channels and touchpoints, including website content, marketing materials, social media, and more. This role will work with our Kitchen Brands (Crock-Pot, Mr. Coffee, Calphalon, Rubbermaid and more), so a history or strong interest in cooking or kitchen brands is a plus. The right candidate for this role is comfortable working independently, can set their own priorities and multitask well, but is also a true collaborator and always open to learn. You must be adaptable and able to switch between voices as you navigate content across brands. You are a creative self-starter who is energized to learn and enjoy a fast-paced and flexible work environment. Experience in ecommerce is preferred. 

Our Hoboken waterfront office is located just steps from the PATH and New Jersey Transit, making it an easy commute from New York City or New Jersey. This role will begin with a hybrid work-from-home and in-office schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop Brand Messaging: Craft compelling and authentic brand messaging that reflects our company values, resonates with our target audience, and communicates our unique brand story. Write Engaging Content: Produce creative and engaging content for various platforms and mediums, including website copy, blog posts, email newsletters, social media posts, video scripts, and more. Maintain Brand Consistency: Ensure consistency in brand voice, tone, and style across all brand communications, adhering to brand guidelines and style preferences. Collaborate with Cross-functional Teams: Work closely with marketing, design, and product teams to align brand messaging with overall marketing strategies and campaign initiatives. Tell Compelling Stories: Develop and tell compelling stories that captivate our audience, evoke emotion, and drive brand loyalty and engagement. Stay Updated on Industry Trends: Keep abreast of industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape to inform brand messaging strategies and maintain relevance. Contribute to Brand Strategy: Participate in brand strategy sessions and contribute creative ideas for brand campaigns, promotions, and initiatives. Manage Multiple Projects and Deadlines: Effectively prioritize tasks and manage workload to meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality brand content within established timelines.

Qualifications:

A minimum 3 years of copywriting work experience (portfolio or writing samples requested) The successful candidate will be a proven team contributor with experience in retail, e-commerce, or CPG direct-to-consumer, preferably as a brand writer or content creator Exceptional writing and storytelling skills with a knack for creativity and originality. Strong understanding of brand identity, positioning, and messaging Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent time management and organizational skills. BA in English or Creative Writing, or relevant work experience Experience or strong personal interest in working with Cooking or Kitchen Brands is a plus
