Vitalant is currently seeking a Driver / Medical Courier (Union) to help facilitate blood and blood product deliveries to hospitals. Schedule varies 2:00p - 1030p / weekend shifts 9A-530p
Pay:
$16.75 Hourly + 8% Evening Shift Differential and Weekend Shift Premium

Responsible for the delivery, transport and pick-up of blood/blood products from hospitals, donor centers and mobile blood drives. Ensure that blood/blood products are transported according to AABB standards and prescribed SOP's. Accurately completes all documents associated with the delivery/pick-up. Communicate effectively with internal and external customers. Report and resolve any customer concern or discrepancies. Complete daily driver log and route sheets. Performs and documents weekly vehicle inspection. Assists with the training of new drivers. Other duties as assigned.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receives direction from the dispatcher for hospital deliveries. Checks to ensure products are properly packed and the delivery location matches the products prior to leaving the blood center.Accurately completes all associated documents in accordance with established procedures. Loads Vitalant vehicle with designated equipment as indicated on route sheet.Maintains a consistent and professional level of communication with Customer Service Representatives as well as all Vitalant customers. Responsible for exemplary customer service, including reporting any customer complaints to supervisor/manager/director immediately.Is knowledgeable on the shortest/most efficient routes between locations. Confirms every en route stop with the dispatcher.Complies with vehicle safety requirements, weekly vehicle inspections and maintenance.Observes rules of the road when driving assigned vehicle.Demonstrates care and safe operation of vehicle.Reports any issues pertaining to vehicle maintenance in a timely manner. Reports accidents/incidents immediately and completes required paperwork according to policy.Maintains a safe driving record.Does not eat or smoke in the vehicle in accordance with Vitalant policy.Prepares ice bags, organizes box room and cleans transportation coolers as needed/directed.We have other current jobs related to this field that you can find below
