Position Summary:Oversees the daily operations of a production or distribution site. They ensure efficient production, manage production teams, and meet production goals. Their responsibilities include quality control, process optimization, and effective resource utilization to drive a profitable financial outcome.The guiding principles of this role will utilize strategic objectives outlined by the Regional Manager in conjunction withTransPak’s three pillars: Profitability, Happy Customers, Happy Employees.

Essential Functions: 

Driving Profitability: Cost Control - Understanding key drivers and controlling expenses such as cost of goods sold (COGS)

Direct Material and Direct Labor

Understand revenue needed to achieve profitability goal of 20% bottom line

Managing throughput of the factory: Set and communicate production expectations that align to our ever-changing customer expectations while delivering product to specification. Hold production factory team accountable to committed production dates. 

Inventory: Accountable for the inventory accuracy and optimal inventory carrying levels to avoid material shortages and scrap of excess material due to obsolescence. 

Leadership: Manage cross functional teams including site inventory, production scheduling, production, local customer service, and quality control (QC).

Make direct labor personnel decisions such as hiring, compensation, promotions, coaching and development within the allowable compensation grade brackets. *All salaried SG&A hires need the approval of the Regional Manager. 

Holding site operations consistent with TransPak policy and procedures

Scorecard:

Drive KPI's set by Regional Manager to measure plant capacity, utilization, and success in providing the required services. 

Strive for cost saving initiatives

Collaborates: with Regional Manager on continuous improvement, efficiency, and profitability initiatives. 

Education/Knowledge/Skill Desired: 

Bachelor’s degree in business management, engineering, manufacturing fields. Or equivalent experience

3 years’ experience in business operations experience.

Demonstrated success managing a production floor and budget.

Personal attributes of positive communicator and people manager, initiative, continuous improvement mindset and efficiency-focus.

Understanding of Lean/Six Sigma tools and concepts and business process management.

Understanding of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems.

Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Proficiency in or ability to become proficient in X3, Ops Center, and SEI

Proficiency in or ability to become proficient in MS Excel to include skills such as Pivot Tables, Indexing, V-lookups, and basic modeling concepts

Ability to effectively communicate with other internal and external parties, such as TransPak sales team or with customers
