This position is ECB status – requires a minimum number of worked hours per month as needed by the department; limited benefit offerings. Job Summary: Performs general maintenance, and repairs of facilities and equipment. Troubleshoots basic repairs and coordinates order of parts and supplies. Orders, receives, and maintains established inventory levels of patient use supplies through current business tools and systems. Completes required documentation for all activities. May periodically perform routine housekeeping duties as requested.
Minimum Education: High school diploma.
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: None.
Work Experience: 6 months.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Has basic computer skills. Must possess oral and written communication skills. Technical ability to perform maintenance assignments. Possess basic math skills for converting units of measure as supplies are ordered.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Performs basic equipment repairs. Coordinates scheduling of more detailed repairs as required utilizing facility engineers, biomedical engineers, or manufacturer representatives. Utilizes product catalogues with stated units of measure to order stock and non-stock supplies for the facility. Receives goods from supply distributor and other freight entities as required and completes documentation of same. Ensures documentation is sent to Finance as requested in a timely manner. Completes orders for parts and equipment supplies as necessary. Uses approved methods and equipment for minor housekeeping duties as necessary. Employs excellent communication skills to perform as an integral team member.
Decision Making: Independent judgment in making minor decisions where alternatives are limited and standard policies/protocols have been established.
Working Relationships: Works with internal/external customers. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
