As a part of the Facilities Management Business Systems team, the individual will utilize Python, Arcade, HTML, XML, C#, JAVAScript, JAVA, CSS, and other web-based tools to develop and support software, especially the ESRI GIS, ReADY application GIS portion, AiM CMMS software GIS portion and CAD to GIS interface.
Working knowledge and experience with SQL servers, including writing SQL and Python queries and scripts, is highly desirable. The candidate will also utilize relational database management systems and develop integration pieces. This position will also provide server maintenance and support for applications, certificate (SSL) installation and upgrades, and firewall support as needed. The candidate will perform other functions and technology-related tasks as required.
The position will require independent project management and will serve as lead contact for the Assistant Director, FM Projects, for development performed for the Facilities Management Business Systems GIS portion. Must be able to apply and learn SSL certificates to servers and manage a development and production system. Will also ensure backups are running and review space on server for excess logs as needed.
Duties also include database administration, which involves stored procedure management, table/view creation for application, and ETL development. This position will also provide monitoring of database size to allow for optimization, perform lead duties of familiarizing new employees with current practices, provide recommendations for implementing new systems, and support the department with new improvement recommendations. The candidate will also provide customer support as needed.
The work schedule for exempt staff employees is whatever is deemed appropriate to meet the department’s operational needs. A 40-hour workweek is considered minimal for exempt staff members, and such personnel may be required to work overtime after 5 p.m. and/or during nonbusiness hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and when the University is closed, if management deems it necessary; therefore, you are considered essential personnel.
Due to communication expectations of the position, the incumbent will be required to maintain a personal cell phone and will be required to be continually available both during and after normal working hours.
This position will work with a keyboard and mouse. The position will require lifting up to 50 lbs.
