Liberty Point Behavioral Healthcare is actively seeking highly-motivated individuals skilled in leadership and communication to fulfill the role of Mental Health Specialist. The ideal candidate will have a positive demeanor and sharp attention to detail, will demonstrate consistency and reliability, and must have a heart for helping mentally and behaviorally disabled teenage boys.

Liberty Point Behavioral Healthcare  is located in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley -- a region best known for its natural beauty -- in the charming city of  Staunton, Virginia . We provide trauma-informed psychiatric residential treatment to adolescent males who are experiencing complex emotional, behavioral, and educational difficulties. Our programs are specifically designed for youth with psychiatric disorders and co-occurring intellectual disabilities. We also specialize in working with young men who are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. We are a -bed facility with a program that prepares these young men for return to a home, a less restrictive environment, or to independent living. Our primary focus is on encouraging constructive change and personal growth, learning positive ways to get appropriate attention, improving behavior choices, developing a sense of responsibility for actions, learning problem-solving skills, and developing thinking patterns that support positive relationships.

We try to accommodate shift preference, however not all shifts are available at all times. Full-Time: 1st Shift: 7:am-3:pm2nd Shift: 3:pm-:pm3rd Shift: :pm-7:amall MHTs are required to work every other weekend Hired candidates must be able to commit to a 2-week new employee orientation, approx. 9:am-5:pm each day, Monday-Friday. Part-Time and PRN positions do not qualify for sign-on bonus or benefits.

Job Description & Essential Duties:

Provide direct supervision and care for intellectually disabled adolescents in a residential setting Provide daily living skills direction, examples, and demonstration to residents at different levels of ability Provide positive and appropriate intervention, limit-setting, response, problem-solving, and guidance when needed Provide effective, accurate, and legible documentation in a timely fashion Demonstrate knowledge, understanding, and follow-thru with resident treatment plans and interventions Respond to children in a caring, mature manner while demonstrating sound professional boundaries with both residents and staff Serve as a role model for residents and other staff Assist in management of aggressive behavior
Qualifications

Successful candidates must meet the following requirements:

Must be at least  years of age Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services field of study preferred Hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record (preferred)

Successful candidates must also be able to :

Lift and carry up to pounds, Effectively use the full range of body motion, - sit, bend, kneel or stand for more than an hour if needed. Reflect behavior, attitude, and appearance appropriate to the position and be supportive of the facility and division philosophy, goals, and objectives Successfully complete and pass all components of Handle With Care & Verbal De-escalation Crisis Intervention Training, Effectively perform facility approved First Aid and CPR techniques (CPR, First Aid, and HWC training will be obtained during new employee orientation)

Pay is Hourly (bi-weekly) and is commensurate with education and experience.
