Description

The Natural Gas Generator Mechanic is responsible for the setup, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of NG generators.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Works with ethics, honesty, values and integrity. Provides a position of professionalism to others.
• Diagnoses electrical, mechanical, and gas issues on NG generators.
• Keeps inventory of supplies and ensures parts are in stock and available.
• Performs extensive preventative maintenance on NG engines both in the shop and out in the field.
• Utilizes diagnostic software to troubleshoot and setup engines.
• Extracts oil samples from engines in the field.
• Assists in the shop repairing diesel units as needed.
• Fosters a positive working relationship with co-workers, customers, clients and management.
• Completes all safety and equipment related trainings required on a monthly basis.
• Responsible for answering company issued cell phone during on call hours, in accordance with company and safety policies.
• Any other duty, responsibility or task as assigned by the supervisor.

Experience

Required

High School or GED equivalent, some college or trade school preferred. Must be at least 21 years of age and able to maintain insurability with Company insurance. Must have at least two (2) years’ experience repairing natural gas or diesel generators. Must have diesel repair experience including common rail fuel systems and the use of electronic diagnostic tools. Basic DC electrical systems and troubleshooting experience is a must. Must be able to repair all trailer lights, brakes (air, hydraulic and electric) and axles. Must have wellhead gas experience. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Must be able to take direction well. Ability to multi-task and provide assistance when needed. Ability to work in a fast-paced, hard working environment. Dependability and self-motivation is required.

Preferred

CDL preferred, but not required. Common knowledge of AC electricity and excitation is a plus. Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
