JobSummary

Responsible fornegotiation of industry leading agreements for the group purchasingorganization in the Purchased Services area for all the facilitatormembers.

Objective is to ensure best in classindustry pricing and contract terms andconditions.

This position is expected to secureand expand industry leading financial value for the GPO membership.Individual must possess strong negotiation skills and thoroughunderstanding of contract terms and conditions with the ability toidentify contractual risks and propose alternative language towarda solution. Individual must be proficient in mitigating businessrisk identifying cost savings opportunities and adept atidentifying new area for contracts.

Mandatory keycompetencies include strategy development negotiations financialanalysis communications planning decision making project managementcustomer relations presentation development and delivery andPurchased Services subject matter expertise. The Director willupdate and advise management on assigned contracting projectsResponsibilities also include the development and execution ofcontract goals for the assignedprojects

JobResponsibilities

ProjectManagement:

  • Ability toindependently plan and execute project timelines for assignedcategories in the Purchased Services space with minimaloversight.
  • Demonstrated level of organizationalability and attention to detail
  • Ability totranslate objectives into project planning priorities create andmanage work plans and timelines for multiple projects andpriorities and finalize negotiations in the timeframe designatedfor the project
  • Ability to be highly efficientand productive demonstrating high volume of contracts/categorieshandled without sacrificing onquality.

CategoryKnowledge:

  • Strongunderstanding of the Purchased Services space with an aptitude tolearn the specific service categories assigned and how endusersinterface with the services.
  • SupplierKnowledge:
  • Individual must know and be able touse knowledge about supplier to develop strategies create leveragemitigate risks anticipate direction of the market and potentialsupplier direction in the Purchased Servicesspace.

StrategyDevelopment Validation and RiskMitigation:

  • Developsthe contract strategy formulates a clear vision and articulatessteps to achieve the negotiationobjectives.
  • The individual must work closelywith customer IDNs (clinicians physicians and highlevel executives)to develop a strategy that aligns with customer needs/requirementsand meets objectives of the grouppurchasing organization. Thestrategy must be presented and approved by the facilitators seniorleadership.
  • Strategies must contemplate avariety of complex considerations. Individual must develop astrategy that manages and hedges risk to achieve the desiredoutcome. The individual must be adept at reading situations andadapting strategies or negotiations as necessary throughout thesourcingprocess

SourcingProcess:

  • Thoroughunderstanding and accountability for the sourcing process for theirassigned portfolio. Including market research bid preparation RFIStrategy Development & Validation RFP Contract Negotiationsand contract launch.
  • Individuals presentationsmust be well prepared concise and articulated clearly. Individualmust consistently deliver a dynamic presentation that captures theaudiences attention and delivered with enthusiasm/passion.Individual must be able to guide the audience to the desired endresult.

Supplier andCustomer RelationshipManagement:

Supplier:

  • Overseesupplier relationship during the sourcing process. Participate insupplier business reviews and review new products/technologies asthey arise in assigned categories.
  • Build strongrelationships with senior level suppliercontacts.

Customer:

  • Buildstrong customer relationships through frequent interaction (alllevels includingexecutive)

Communications:

  • Facilitateconversations with internal functional team during project kickoffto gather feedback opinions and alignment of resource needs to meetcontracting initiative timelines
  • Communicationof bid process negotiation status agreement on terms financialproposal concerns and other matters with supplier and internalteam
  • Engaging customers through oneononeconversations to articulate business strategy and resolve customerspecific issues/concerns with contracting strategy oroutcome.
  • Interfacing with key supply chainexecutives and endusers in a live environment presenting and/orgaining commitment (advisory boards and supply chain board).Capable of securing desired outcomes through persuasion andinfluence.

  • 7YearsHealthcare Contracting SOURCING NEGOTIATING ExperienceRequired
  • Proficientin Microsoft Office (Outlook Word Excel and PowerPoint)Required
  • Excellentcommunication skills (verbal and written)Required
