Arlington, United States Rapid7 Full time

At Rapid7, we’re on a journey to become a market leader in the evolution of the modern SOC to enable more effective managed security services & capability delivery, by bringing signals together from threats, vulnerabilities, misconfigurations and much more to provide a holistic view of a customer’s attack surface across traditional and cloud infrastructure.

We are seeking a strategic, outcome oriented Product Manager who is excited to help achieve success of our product & services portfolio, and improve outcomes for the 10,000+ customers of the Insight platform. You will lead the crafting and evolution of our companyl product strategy and mature our product management practices, standards, and processes along the way. You will also lead and oversee end to end product management of key strategic initatives & capabilities, with the help of our global product team, UX, and engineering on discovery, planning, and execution.

If you have strong PM chops, a burning desire to solve customer pain & problems, are able to balance both business and customer outcomes, and are not afraid to dive into the trenches when needed, or speak your mind, you might just be who we’re looking for.

About the Team

The Rapid7 Global Product team is a newly formed team (~50 PMs) focused on evolving our portfolio of products and services around a single mission to become a seamless integrated platform of security capabilities to enable us to become a leader in Security Operations. Our platform serves traditional product customers, MSSPs, our SOC, and the R7 Information Security team.

About the Role
As Principle Product Manager, you will work closely with the company leaders, our global product management team, and engage with customers, sales, marketing, engineering teams and more.

In this role, you will:

Craft, guide and shape the strategy, experience, and intended customer outcomes of our portfolio of products & services.

Be a natural storyteller. Humans communicate in stories. You will take our vision, strategy, design, engineering and delivery capabilities and weave them into compelling, durable narratives that inspire our teams to achieve success.

Lead cross-team collaboration for product planning, prioritization, development, launch, and on-going enhancements that balance responsiveness to customer needs with strategic market impact.

Encourage data driven product decisions leveraging utilization metrics, user feedback, and customer partnership

Work with product leadership, commercialization leadership, and product marketing to develop content, messaging, and competitive positioning based on solid value propositions and real world use cases driving sales enablement and existing customer growth.

Work the forge: Product leaders aren’t born; rather, they are made. You will temper and shape the next ring of leadership.

The skills you’ll bring include:

5+ years of product management experience and 3+ in product leadership in SaaS or MSSP environments: Recognizing patterns, trends and devising strategies for B2B industries demands context over time.

Data fluency: You understand how data differentiates belief from fact. You understand the ins and outs of product telemetry as an aid to value realization, design choices, and decision support. Humans may communicate with stories, but rationally invest with data.

Own customer problems: Develop, maintain, demonstrate a solid understanding of Security Operations and the problem of unmet customer needs.

Team-minded leadership: Help the team deliver capabilities that satisfy customer needs. You’ll act as an internal and external advocate & spokesperson, but also lend a helping hand when needed. You might be the smartest person in the room but have no need to prove it.

Be intentional: We value transparency, visibility, and integrity in all interactions. You will be rigorous in articulating, sharing, and helping others understand customer needs and the way we solve problems.

Growth mindset: In a growing company, responsibilities grow faster than resources can be deployed. You are comfortable with ambiguity, while striving for clarity and purpose. You know how to grow.

We know that the best ideas and solutions come from multi-dimensional teams. Teams reflecting a variety of backgrounds and professional experiences. If you are excited about this role and feel your experience can make an impact, please don’t be shy - apply today.
