Job Summary:
The licensed insurance producer is responsible for identifying potential clients, assessing their insurance needs, recommending appropriate insurance products, and managing client relationships. This role requires a thorough understanding of various types of insurance, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Acquisition:
- Identify and prospect potential clients through networking, referrals, and marketing strategies.
- Schedule appointments and meet with clients to discuss their insurance needs.
- Needs Assessment:
- Evaluate clients' current insurance coverage and financial situation.
- Conduct risk assessments to determine the appropriate level of coverage required.
- Policy Recommendation:
- Recommend suitable insurance products, including life, health, auto, home, and business insurance.
- Explain policy features, benefits, and exclusions to clients.
- Sales and Policy Management:
- Prepare and present insurance quotes to clients.
- Complete insurance applications and submit them to insurance carriers.
- Follow up with underwriters and other insurance professionals to ensure timely policy issuance.
- Manage and renew existing policies, ensuring clients maintain adequate coverage.
- Customer Service:
- Provide ongoing support to clients, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
- Assist clients with claims processing and ensure they receive fair and prompt settlements.
- Maintain detailed records of client interactions and transactions.
- Compliance and Continuing Education:
- Stay updated with industry regulations, insurance products, and market trends.
- Maintain a valid insurance license and complete required continuing education courses.
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field preferred.
- Licensing:
- Valid state insurance producer license required.
- Additional certifications (e.g., Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC)) are a plus.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in sales, customer service, or the insurance industry preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency with insurance software and CRM systems.

- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Typically, work is conducted in an office environment, but travel to meet clients may be required.
- Work hours are generally standard business hours, but flexibility may be needed to accommodate client schedules.
