Collins Special Test Equipment (STE) is a fast-paced, multi-discipline group that develops simulation and test systems for use in labs, engine test cells and aircraft around the world.

This position is for an experienced Project Engineering professional working independently. Position supports the development of project plans, schedules and budgets, tracks progress, resolves problems, develops solutions, and forecasts project revenue. Coordinates with other functional organizations. Identifies and addresses project problems, analyzes data gathered, and develops solutions and recommendations to solve problems, meet deadlines and optimize performance. Position will apply Agile methodologies to Project execution.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Primary Responsibilities:

Directs all phases of projects from inception through completion. Represents STE as the primary customer contact for projects. Develop and maintain project plans and schedules. Tools used may include Microsoft Project or GitLab. Applies Agile methodologies to Project execution, and guides others in the application of Agile methodologies. Utilizes Earned Value Management techniques to track progress, identify and resolve obstacles to minimize disruption to project schedules, forecast project revenues, monitors costs and re-estimate project costs as necessary. Maintains and presents plans and progress reports of the project(s) to ensure established targets are met. Facilitates project tasks with the various functional organizations to ensure alignment with overall project objectives. Oversees and coordinates the administrative and operational aspects of ongoing projects within program guidelines. Liaises between STE project team and Program Management Office. Prepares basis of estimate, statements of work, and operating budgets for proposals. Monitors and assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.

Qualifications/ Experience Needed:

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Agile Project Management techniques Previous aerospace/ manufacturing/ supply chain industry experience Proficient with Office Suite Experience with Earned Value Management Advanced engineering or related technical degree Test equipment experience

This role is also eligible for the Re-Empower Program. The Re-Empower Program helps support talented and committed professionals as they rebuild their capabilities, enhance leadership skills, and continue their professional journey. Over the course of the 14-week program, experienced professionals will gain paid, on-the-job experience, have an opportunity to participate in sessions with leadership, develop personalized plans for success and receive coaching to guide their return-to-work experience. Upon completion of the program, based on performance and contributions participants will be eligible for a career at RTX.
