Working in an integrated team model, the Patient Registration Specialist will provide excellent customer service to our patients. This is a full-time position typically working Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Travel to other Cherry Health sites may also be required. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED required.  One year working in a healthcare setting with electronic medical record experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job listed above. Bilingual - Spanish preferred

Responsibilities:

Ensure that registration area and telephones open promptly at assigned hours and closing details are carried out. Greet clients/patients and ensure documentation for visit is obtained and recorded appropriately, including confirmation of insurance eligibility, and other necessary forms are filled out completely, and required signatures are secured. Obtain necessary patient information, including insurance provider, update patient information if necessary, and collect payment for services and/or bill patients’ accounts. Schedule and confirm patient appointments and maximize productivity by using established scheduling guidelines, and contact clients for follow up, rescheduling and referral of appointments. Review sliding fee scale costs if necessary. Monitor daily schedules to ensure compliance with guidelines and report variations and make recommendation for change. Keep accurate reports, patient statistics, and office productivity and participate in data reporting as requested. Maintain office supply inventory. Perform general office duties such as filing, sorting, mail distribution, and data entry. Participate in continued education annually, completing CPR and other training as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned.
