The Staff Accountant is responsible for financial analysis and month-end close process and procedures for assigned areas. These areas can include inventory, fixed assets, sales & receivables, store margin, treasury, etc. We like to rotate team members through different responsibilities as part of a career development strategy so these will evolve over time. Responsibilities around internal controls and interactions with auditors will also be a part of this role.

Additionally, regular interaction with peers and cross-functional leadership is expected as we work collaboratively to solve problems and drive improvements and efficiencies throughout the Company.

Responsibilities/Qualifications

The  Staff Accountant will be responsible for:

Month-end accounting procedures including preparation of journal entries. Reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts. Regular financial analysis and communication with stakeholders throughout the organization to help explain operating results.  Interaction with franchisees around inventory levels, billing & collections, cash application, etc.  Generate reporting for management that will be used to drive decision-making.  Coordinate deliverables with auditors, external parties, and leadership on a regular basis.  Work on special projects designed to drive process improvement and efficiency including IT based initiatives.  Assist in the annual budgeting process as required.  Perform various other accounting responsibilities in support of general accounting.  Other responsibilities as assigned.

 PAWsome  Staff Accountant candidates will have:

Bachelors’ degree in Finance or Accounting is required. CPA strongly preferred. 1-3 years of experience in public and/or corporate accounting. Experience with financial reporting under . GAAP. Detail oriented, accurate, flexible, and able to work in a dynamic team-centric environment. Results-driven and possesses strong analytical skills. Proactive and confident in communication. Ability to build relationships cross-functionally to drive attainment of goals and objectives. Able to manage priorities and time effectively. Experience with ERP systems and proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
