GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (GZA) is currently seeking a Sustainability Consultant with 2 to 10 years of experience to support our sustainability practice. The successful candidate will have a solid educational background, and must be self-motivated with a professional attitude.

As a Sustainability Consultant, you will work on a fast-paced team of Scientists, Engineers, Project Managers, and Principals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Calculate Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions and develop emissions inventories and management plans for clients across a broad array of sectors.
  • Prepare disclosures to leading sustainability reporting frameworks.
  • Manage data and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for client sustainability objectives.
  • Evaluate supply chain risks and opportunities related to climate change and water management.
  • Create strategies to engage, educate, and impact supply chains on sustainability issues.
  • Effectively compile and organize environmental data using databases, spreadsheets, or other software.
Other Responsibilities
  • Create, implement, and monitor corporate responsibility and environmental sustainability strategies.
  • Research emerging sustainability-related topics, studies, guidance, and programs.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to clientele on greenhouse gas, climate change, and other environmental sustainability practices or requirements.
  • Support client communications, project management, business development, and GZA's internal sustainability program.

Qualifications:
  • A Master's or Bachelor's degree in an environmental science, engineering or sustainability-related field, plus several years of professional experience in the corporate sustainability field.
  • 2-10 years of relevant professional experience in corporate greenhouse gas accounting and climate change reporting and disclosure.
  • Understanding of key sustainability issues and trends in business and management practice, especially in the field of climate change and greenhouse gas emissions evaluation, reporting, and target-setting.
  • In-depth MS Excel and database skills including ability to create lookup functions, manage Pivot Tables, and develop Excel VBA solutions. Work experience on this qualification may be requested during the interview process.
  • Superb attention to detail and dedication to thorough quality reviews and to seeking continuous improvement opportunities in work products.
  • Ability to work independently and to perform technical execution of projects under the supervision of project managers.
  • Strong communication skills in team and client-facing settings.
  • Excellence and experience in presenting information in oral and written form to clients and other stakeholder groups.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with completing environmental footprints and LCA models is a plus.
  • Database, CAD, or ArcGIS proficiency is a plus.
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday and some evenings and weekends. Overnight travel is possible.
  • A valid driver's license in good standing and ability to travel on occasion.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
