Assistant Bindery Production Operator

Summary: The Bindery Production Assistant is responsible for helping the Bindery Operator with the setup, adjustment and safe operation of all relevant bindery equipment such as: MBO folders with pile and continuous feeders; Heidelberg/Stahl Folders with continuous feeders; and 6 pocket Muller Martini-Presto saddle stitchers to produce quality finished products that meet customer specifications and quality standards.
Schedule: 1st shift: Monday-Friday, eight or more hours per day, five days per week based on business needs. Primary schedule will be 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM, Monday – Friday, or similar. Training may occur at other times.
Salary Range: $18.00 To 20.00 Hourly
Compensation commensurate with experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Checks paper sheet size/type etc., and verify materials requiredAssists with managing the preparation of next jobs to be printedAssist with press maintenance tasks and cleaningSupport the Lead Press Operator by completing tasks as directed to keep the press running Actively remove waste items for recyclingComplete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.Ensure all equipment, tools, and workstation are in good working order and is free of safety hazards Report workplace hazards to management immediatelyWear all assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required Report all work related injuries, illnesses, and/or near misses to management immediatelyKeep all work area/station in compliance with our housekeeping guidelines Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulationsMaintain departmental housekeeping standards, such as keeping floors swept and absent of debris that may be a work hazardRegularly perform general housekeeping duties in your work area(s)Adhere to all safety policies and protocols and maintain a safe working environmentAttend all department/company meetingsOther duties as assignedFor an extensive listing of duties and responsibilities please refer to the attached Job Description.
Qualifications
