About The Role

Our Study Supervisors supervise not only studies, but procedures and research assignments. They coordinate the duties of personnel and study teams and assists with sample and data collection for research studies. We are a high energy preclinical laboratory and our Supervisors are responsible for delivering quality results in a fast paced environment. High caliber communication, objective orientation and out-of-the-box problem solving will go a long way in this role.

What You'll Do Here

Ensure that assigned studies have appropriately trained staff, necessary supplies, and necessary forms or electronic systems for data collection Perform and train staff on technical procedures on animals, including; injections, blood draws, collection of urine samples, catheterizations, surgical preparation, restraining, anesthesia, tissue collection, animal disposal Monitor progress of studies during the In-Life phases to verify adherence to study guidelines and timelines Attend and participate in study planning meetings Create, review, and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) relating to animals, technical procedures and facility issues Monitor and report changes in animal behavior or health, and problems with animal room Monitor and maintain animals and facilities in accordance to applicable laws and regulations Monitor and report problems with data collection or equipment. Set up equipment for studies Record and enter raw study data into templates for use by Study Directors Operate and maintain selected laboratory equipment. Ensure equipment is GLP compliant Maintain general organization and cleanliness of work area, including cleaning and disinfecting procedure rooms and preparation areas Provide technical knowledge to training team in developing training manuals and guidelines Ensure animals are housed in accordance with federal and established guidelines Ensure study conduct as described in Protocol, e.g. dosing, treatments, surgery and necropsy schedule Document study procedures and results in study notebooks in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) regulations, i.e. animal assignment records, anesthesia records, treatment sheets, study events summaries, euthanasia and necropsy records Perform QC review study and facility data in a timely manner Complete daily research data (e.g., Protocols, schedules for projects) Assign and oversee duties to personnel necessary to complete daily schedules Schedule and assign appropriate animal species for studies in consultation with the Study Scientist or Study Director. Schedule animal and procedure rooms, and surgery suites Report information regarding clinical problems with the animals, data collection or equipment

What You'll Need To Succeed

Bachelor's degree, specializing in science and/or equivalent experience 3 plus years working in a research environment LATG certification preferred The ability to work with Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Info Path, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Able to adapt easily to new software programs Advanced written and oral English communication skills: Ability to read and interpret technical documents, write routine reports, and speak to customers or employee groups on a regular basis Continual GLP training and training on applicable procedures and SOPs within the department Ability to work cross functionally on process improvements

The pay range estimated for this position is $ - $ hourly. Please note that hourly rates/salaries vary within the range based on factors including, but not limited to, prior relevant experience, skills, education, certification, location as well as internal equity and market data.
