Caseworker - Adult Protective Services Investigator (field-based)

Full-time Caseworker / Investigator positions are available with Liberty Healthcare and the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Adult Protective Services Program.
Please note - Applicants must reside within York County.
This mission of an APS Investigator / Case Worker is to ensure the wellbeing of others by investigating reports of need, and if substantiated, mitigate or eliminate imminent risk of abuse, neglect, exploitation, or abandonment for adults who are living with disabilities.Starting pay is approximately $46,000 per year, which is paid $22.12 per hour. Opportunities are also available to earn additional income by working optional overtime and taking on additional cases. You will also be eligible for biannual performance bonuses of $750.
Your day-to-day work will involve traveling throughout the region, conducting investigations in residences, determining if reports are substantiated, documenting findings, developing plans, and managing active cases.
These positions will cover York County and, if needed, the immediately surrounding counties. Coverage area is dependent on location of residence.
This is challenging work that comes with a high degree of autonomy. You can expect a flexible work schedule which will include occasional evening hours.
You will earn 30 days of paid time off annually which you may use for holidays, vacation, personal time, and sick leave. Other benefits are also offered. Adult Protective Services training and Investigator certification is provided to new hires.
A Bachelor's degree is preferred, however relevant experience will be considered as a substitute for a college degree. Relevant experience includes work in these areas:
- Behavioral health, mental health, or intellectual and developmental disabilities services
- Field-based healthcare or human services
- Service Coordination, Supports Coordination or Program Specialist roles
- Child, Family and Youth Services case management experience (County CYF)
- Law enforcement
- Case management or other protective services
This position will require you to travel locally and regionally, so you must have your own vehicle. Work-related mileage and toll expenses are reimbursed.
Knowledge of Social Assistance Management Systems (SAMS) and Home and Community Service Information Systems (HCSIS) is helpful, and Spanish speaking skills are a plus.
