Interim Global Mobility Tax Specialist

Worksite Location: Minneapolis, MN–Remote Opportunity; Seeking Minnesota / Twin Cities based candidate only.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Serving as the SME for mobility tax, consulting the mobility team, HR business partners, cross-functional groups, and assignees. Address inquiries about global assignment cost estimates, assignment planning, and assignee questions. Oversee the application of mobility tax programs and manage the escalation of policy issues. Provide individual tax guidance for cross-border remote work requests. Conduct periodic benchmarking reviews of tax policy provisions. Monitor individual tax law changes and determine necessary process changes and cost impacts to tax equalization. Conduct communication and education sessions for stakeholders. Cultivate and foster strong working relationships with the mobility team, finance, payroll, compensation, corporate tax, mobility vendors, assignees, business partners, and other stakeholders. Manage escalations related to mobility tax matters. Provide mobility tax process oversight, regular reporting, and identify improvements. Manage tax equalization collection and payments, end-to-end payment, invoice, and gross-up processes for global and domestic mobility. Oversee shadow payroll arrangements, secondment agreements, social security agreements, and annual compensation reviews. Review annual equity vesting for the mobile population. Identify and support new and existing technology platforms for cost estimates, assignment packages, and orientation for potential assignees. Oversee vendor management and maintain vendor relationships to ensure compliance and delivery of high-standard services. Review authorization lists for assignees eligible for tax provider services. Review vendor hypothetical tax tables and tax model assumptions and identify adjustments for improved assignee communication. Conduct final reviews of vendor tax invoices and out-of-scope fees. Participate in annual reviews and sign-offs of company tax positions with vendors. Participate in vendor reviews and proposals.

Required Skills & Experience:

Proven experience as a Global Mobility Tax Specialist or similar role. Deep understanding of global mobility tax programs and policies. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in using HRIS and tax-related software systems
