Life University is seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual for the position of Director of Accreditation. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the accreditation process, ensuring compliance with various accrediting bodies, with a specific focus on the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE), Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND), and other specialty accreditors as applicable. The Director of Accreditation will play a pivotal role in maintaining the university's accreditation status and advancing its academic programs.

Responsibilities

Oversee Accreditation Processes: Manage and coordinate all aspects of the accreditation process, ensuring compliance with the requirements and standards set forth by the relevant accrediting bodies. Compliance Management: Stay informed about the evolving standards and guidelines of accrediting bodies such as SACS, CCE, ACEND, and others. Ensure that the university remains in compliance with these standards and proactively identify areas of improvement or potential risks. Accreditation Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans to maintain and enhance the university's accreditation status. Collaborate with various academic departments and administrative units to ensure alignment with accreditation standards. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and submit comprehensive reports and documentation required by accrediting bodies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Maintain organized records and files to support the accreditation process. Communication and Liaison: Serve as the primary contact for accrediting bodies and facilitate communication between the university and these organizations. Build positive relationships with accrediting bodies and actively participate in relevant meetings, workshops, and conferences. Policy Development: Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and revise policies and procedures related to accreditation. Ensure that policies are aligned with accreditation standards and effectively communicated across the university. Accreditation Training and Education: Develop and deliver training programs to educate faculty, staff, and administrators on accreditation standards, processes, and best practices. Provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure a comprehensive understanding of accreditation requirements. Quality Improvement: Work collaboratively with academic departments and administrative units to identify opportunities for quality improvement related to accreditation. Implement processes and initiatives to support continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, advanced degree preferred. Proven experience in accreditation processes and standards, specifically with SACS, CCE, ACEND, and other specialty accreditors. Experience in an institution of higher education with responsibility for accreditation activities preferred. Strong knowledge and understanding of higher education accreditation requirements and guidelines. Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports and documentation. Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and compliance. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong leadership qualities. Familiarity with quality improvement methodologies and practices.
