Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Faculty Clinician supports the mission and vision of Life University, the College of Chiropractic, and the Life University Clinics. The clinician provides quality chiropractic patient care and education, and quality chiropractic clinical education to student interns. The faculty member supports the Clinic Director in the daily operations of the clinic, provides leadership and support, and is involved in the college community. The faculty member also assists in all areas of clinic procedures to assure a smooth flow of patients, interns, and records within the clinics.

Responsibilities

Patient Care:

  1. Responsible for the implementation and promotion of a vitalistic approach centered on the vertebral subluxation complex in the clinical application of chiropractic.
  2. Directly supervise and/or provide patient care as appropriate on a daily basis.
  3. Manage patient care within the approved protocol(s) of the Life Chiropractic Clinics.
  4. Be accessible and responsive to the patient’s needs.
  5. Maintain a strong doctor/patient relationship ensuring patient satisfaction.
  6. Assure proper documentation is maintained on all patients.
  7. Monitor patient progress and ensure appropriate follow-up.
  8. Provide the highest quality care possible and assist each patient to reach his or her health goals in a suitable manner.
  9. Provide referrals to other health care providers as needed.
  10. Demonstrate sound clinical judgment.
  11. Be a consultation source for other faculty.
  12. Complete patient reports and/or respond to agency inquiry in an appropriate and timely manner.
  13. Develop and maintain clinical expertise.
  14. Transfer patients when appropriate and maintain continuity of patient care.
  15. Complete patient reports and/or respond to agency inquiry in an appropriate and timely manner.

Instruction:

  1. Develop and provide a hands-on mentoring approach to patient care, management, and clinical education.
  2. Engage interns in a variety of clinical activities and promote a critical thinking environment while ensuring continuity of care.
  3. Provide instruction and oversee student conduct, proficiency, professionalism, and clinical standards.
  4. Support and aid students in developing communication skills.
  5. Perform qualitative assessment on intern clinical competency.
  6. Provide student remediation when necessary
  7. Support and assist interns to develop skills in examination, diagnosis and case management development; and adjusting.
  8. Manage and/or direct all clinical protocols and procedures performed by clinic interns.
  9. Responsible for performing the Case Management Review, ensuring that a complete, goal-oriented patient management plan is formulated.
  10. Participate in classroom activities as assigned.
  11. Participate in the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) as assigned.
  12. Assist in student assessment and group educational activities.
  13. Be responsible for assisting the Director of Clinics or his/her designate in the efficient operation and management of the clinic.

Administrative:

  1. Comply with all Federal, State, and local laws applicable to the practice of chiropractic.
  2. Provide instruction and oversee student conduct, proficiency, professionalism, and clinical standards.
  3. Adheres to and supports University, College, and clinic policies and procedures.
  4. Attends departmental meetings, i.e., Faculty Staff Development Program and graduations.
  5. Responsible for punctual attendance of all assigned hours on a daily basis.
  6. Responsible for assisting the Clinic Director or his/her designate for the efficient operation and management of the clinic.
  7. Monitor and report facility and equipment needing repair.
  8. Monitor the cleanliness and general neatness of the clinic on a daily basis.
  9. Complete tasks assigned by the Director.


Requirements

  1. A Doctor of Chiropractic degree from an accredited program, with current license in good standing in the state of Georgia (or eligible for licensure in the state of Georgia).
  2. A minimum of three (3) years' successful practice experience.
  3. Excellent skills related to communication, patient education, assessment, organization, diagnosis, professionalism, and adjustment technique.
  4. Current CPR certification.
  5. Related post-graduate degree, Diplomate, certification or coursework preferred.
