Responsibilities include extensive assessment and clinical judgment of physiological health care, monitoring the status and providing an appropriate plan of care in collaboration with the health care team. This coordinator serves as the clinical expert to assigned staff and is a strong unit leader and performs unit and system leadership activities as necessary to support the specific service line. This Coordinator also applies advanced clinical knowledge of the specialty and is required to scrub and/or circulate as needed. The Specialty Coordinator is also responsible for developing a core curriculum, in conjunction with the clinical educator and system education, for the service line and oversees orientation of new staff and on-going staff education and evaluation of these programs within the service line, along with acting as a role model, resource person, and member of the management team as well as keeping the organization Inc. Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license. Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
